Cantilever rack removes front upright interruptions so long stock can span several support arms. Lumber, pipe and building-material loads need their own support plan, not a pallet rack with longer beams. Arm spacing follows the stock
We need the longest and shortest stored lengths, bundle weight, material stiffness and how each load is picked. A long bundle may require several support points; a short piece should not fall between the chosen arm positions. Arm length also has to support the load depth without making the forklift reach awkward.
Individual arm capacity and the column's total load both matter. Uneven loading on one side of a double-sided row must be considered in the selected arrangement. We show support spacing, arm levels and load assumptions so the drawing can be reviewed against the material list.
Give long loads room to turn
A pipe bundle or lumber pack changes the turning envelope even when the forklift is familiar. We map the approach, retrieval direction and staging zone around the full load length. Open-front storage removes a rack obstruction but does not remove the need for handling space.
Bellmead's pre-engineered metal shops along New Dallas Highway and Loop 340 differ from McGregor's industrial buildings and Woodway's mixed-height plants. Door openings, crane working areas and usable height shape the row arrangement. For a manufacturer with both long raw stock and palletized components, we draw cantilever and selective rack as separate working zones.
Indoor stock and yard handling
Specify whether the rack sits indoors or serves yard inventory. The material, packaging and retrieval method determine the support detail. Pipe, bar and flat stock may need different handling accessories, even when their total weight appears similar.

During long hot summers, non-air-conditioned shop work also needs an organized unloading and assembly sequence. The proposal identifies arm quantities, support levels, capacities and row lengths rather than treating every long-stock position as interchangeable.

Yes, if arm spacing and load supports suit every stored length. We may separate shorter material into another arrangement rather than forcing it onto supports selected for the longest bundles.

Crane working areas and the load path must remain available. We locate rows using the actual lifting method, material lengths and usable building height, instead of relying on a single clear-height measurement.
What should a McGregor supplier provide for arm capacities?
